This year we welcomed our baby girl, Yoonah Nam, celebrate Caitlin taking command, and mark 2 years in Little Rock.

Aug ‘22 - Our trip began with a week in Tokyo to explore the capital and prepare for our cycling trip. We then took the bullet train to train to Hiroshima to start our 3-week bike journey back to Tokyo by way of the Kyoto region and the “Japanese Alps”. Finally, we finished off our amazing month by climbing the iconic Mt Fuji.

We visit Vietnam for the final stop on our tour of southeast Asia. We travel by motorcycle for a week south from Hanoi to Da Nang on the Ho Chi Minh road and then continue on our bicycles to explore the coast.

In April, we took a break from our travels in Southeast Asia and explored the vast Himalayan mountains of Nepal. We were thrilled to have Ryan’s close friend Buddy join us.

We continued our bike tour of Southeast Asia with a 10-day trip in Cambodia filled with temples, powerful history, local experiences, gravel country roads, and much more.

After our 2 week bike touring trip from the southern half of Thailand, we arrived in the capital city of Bangkok for a weekend to recuperate and reorganize before continuing north toward Chiang Mai.

After thoroughly enjoying our first big bike touring trip together last summer in Korea, Caitlin and I decided to cycle as much of Thailand as possible this spring. 

For my final trip of summer break, I was extremely fortunate to join my friend Esther, a fellow Olmsted scholar, on a two-week cycling trip in Mongolia. -C

Ryan was able to join me for a trip in Asia this summer! We had the privilege to spend a month together in South Korea. Half of that time was spent quarantining on one of the U.S. Air Force bases. The other have was full of adventure! — strolling about Seoul and Busan, cycling down the East Coast, and exploring Korea’s largest island Jeju. -C
